TLC’s ‘Hoarding: Buried Alive! & Junk King of Nashville

We are excited to announce that the episode of TLC’s ‘Hoarding: Buried Alive!‘ that Junk King of Nashville worked on last Spring is finally going to air on Wednesday, March 26th at 8PM Central.  Client and crew were wonderful. Tomorrow’s blog will talk more about the day. Watch tonight and come back tomorrow for some backstory. I don’t want to ruin any surprises (or make TLC mad). If you think of it, please go to our Facebook page HERE and share our post about the show. We had little warning it would air and were unable to put out a press release. Thanks!

It was filmed with New York’s Jean Leon of Junk King of Hudson Valley helping with the clean out. Junk King of Nashville participated on an episode which will air in late May 2014. I’ll keep you posted. Tonight’s episode is titled: We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat.

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday

Although ‘Small Business Saturday‘ has only been around since November 2010, it has gained momentum partly due to backing by the very large non-Mom-N-Pop American Express. With two employees Junk King of Nashville is by no means a ‘large’ business, though we occasionally hear that we are not a small business because we are a franchise. People saying this receive a raised eyebrow from me. There is still the notion that Franchise = Corporate Monster and it just is not (usually) the case. Most franchises are locally owned by Mom-N-Pops who are heavily involved with their communities.

We have 4 jobs today on the schedule so far. We do take American Express as a form of payment. I hope all four clients have an Am/Ex card, have registered it, and use it to pay for our services today so they can get $10 credited back to their account (as well as receiving more space in their home or office and the peace of mind that brings). Remember, Small Business Saturday is not just for brick and mortar stores – it is for services as well.

Hoarding: Buried Alive! & Junk King

Tonight (Wednesday, November 27 9:00PM Central Time) is the first of two episodes of TLC’s ‘Hoarding: Buried Alive! filmed with Ed Stripay and Ryan Kozesky of Junk King of Pittsburgh. This episode they are joined by Eric and Marta Hughes of Junk King of Columbus. Ed was the first contact with TLC and this episode filmed with the Hughes and their crews helped solidify a relationship for Junk King with the producers of the show. They did such a professional job that when a new episode is being filmed the producers check to see if there is a Junk King franchise nearby to take care of the hauling aspect of the process. Junk King of Nashville participated on an episode which will air in early 2014. I’ll keep you posted. Tonight’s episode, #704, is titled: My Teeth Are Lost in the Pile.
